Yemaya brings a deep and consistent interest in how early relationships shape the way people experience themselves, others, and the world over time.
His work is grounded in an understanding that many of the challenges people face are not isolated, but often connected to earlier experiences of disruption, adaptation, and attempts to find safety within relationships.
He has spent a number of years working alongside individuals navigating complex experiences, including trauma, family violence, mental health, and substance use. Across this work, he has developed a steady and thoughtful approach, with a focus on understanding what sits beneath patterns of behaviour rather than simply addressing them at the surface.
Yemaya’s practice is relational, attuned, and grounded. He values being alongside people as they make sense of their experiences at their own pace, and places importance on creating a space where complexity can be explored without pressure or simplification.
His ongoing area of interest is attachment and the moment-to-moment process of attunement within relationships. He is currently undertaking further research study with the intention of pursuing a PhD focused on how these relational processes shape development over time.
